A lot is happening in our community of believers these days. Read on for some great inspiration and vision…
BUILDING PROGRESS
The drop ceiling in the original building disappeared last week. For those who worshipped in the old sanctuary it was stunning to see the high ceiling once again and the re-configuration of the interior. It’s going to be awesome when finished. Many other changes are happening nearly every day. Watch the website for pictures. CONSTRUCTION PHOTOS
SEIZE THE DREAM OFFERING LAST WEEK
Last week we received a special Building Fund offering and we responded with $29,191.28. Thank you to all who gave! Total giving now stands at $1,759,110.13. We are building this ministry for a harvest of souls both in our community and around the world. Thus far the Lord has helped us because we are in His will. Keep praying, giving, believing and volunteering to minister.
MILITARY POTLUCK
Last Sunday was the first of many coming activities for our military families. Forty nine people showed up and wonderful connections, friendships and support emerged. Watch for more to come.
INTERESTED IN A MISSIONS TRIP?
Here is great opportunity to go with Mark Schaufler and MST ministries to the Dominican Republic and do construction. You don’t have to be a carpenter! Dates: January 8-20, 2009.
Also, we are setting up a missions trip to India for next May to capture vision for our new outreach to the Garhwal people. We need a confirmation and a $500 deposit per person of those who plan to go in May by NOVEMBER 24th. PLEASE let me know if you have any questions about the trip.
IT’S SO JOLLY TO RIDE THE TROLLEY!
Please consider parking at the Seventh Day Adventist Church and riding the trolley to church this weekend. Trolleys run a half hour before and after each service. Parking on our campus is limited, so thank you SO MUCH for making the extra effort. Come a little early and have some fun! Starbucks cards are awarded if you ride the whole month of November.
Also, if you do park on the main church property, please park as far away as you can. Let’s fill up the back rows first and create a culture of service to others. “Walk a minute, blessings in it!” I know it’s corny, but service to others is always appreciated. Be a servant.
THIS WEEKEND…
Bob Mortimer will be speaking in all three weekend services. He was recently featured on the cover of Today’s Pentecostal Evangel with the story of his riding a bicycle from Gig Harbor to the Statue of Liberty. What’s so unusual about that? He has lost three limbs in an accident and only has one arm remaining! Read about him at his website: http://www.bobmortimer.org/about/about.html
He’s been an evangelist for 20 years now and speaks across the nation. Invite a friend to come with you and hear this amazing story.
For another amazing story watch this video of a pastor’s son named Nick who has no arms or legs yet surfs, golfs and lives an amazing life. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2I0DRk8dFjI
Invite a friend to church this weekend and expect something wonderful as we hear an ineffable testimony and worship together.
Blessings,
Pastor Dan
And just for fun…
A blonde is watching the news with her husband when the newscaster says "Two Brazilian men die in a skydiving accident."
The blonde starts crying to her husband, sobbing "That's horrible!!! So many men dying that way!"
Confused, he says, "Yes dear, it is sad, but they were skydiving, and there is always that risk involved."
After a few minutes, the blonde, still sobbing, says, "How many is a Brazilian?"
