Faith Assembly of Lacey
Pastor Peter Degon
Senior Pastor
I am an ordinary person. I am not a religious guru. I am not “The Holy Man.”
I am saved by God’s grace like everyone else.
I can lead this church because God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
I want to lead a local church that holds weekend services for humans, not just Christians. I believe the Lord is pursuing all of us and desperately knocks on the doors of our hearts hoping we will invite Him into our lives. During my sophomore year of high school I noticed some students had no faith, some had religion and others had real faith. I decided not to play the game of church. Either my faith was going to be real, or I was done. Since that time, God has been shaping me to become more like Him. Added note: I like the new me much better!
If you are looking for the perfect church we are not it. Unfortunately church people are occasionally hypocrites like everyone else. But we strive to be authentic and honest. We know we are broken and lost without our creator. He forgives our sin. He leads us to a better life. Following Jesus might actually make your life more difficult. But I believe it is totally worth it.
I love the church. Imperfect as we may be. We are people of faith looking beyond ourselves to the needs of others and the glory of our Savior.
I have been a part of Faith Assembly since I was an eight year old kid. Now I am raising my kids in this great local church. The Lord has given me a life partner in my wife Stacy. We are not the wisest, wealthiest or most gifted family in the church. We are simply the ones God called to lead.
Living generously,
Pastor Peter
